Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger Norway. Professionally known as Aurora and occasionally stylized using uppercase letters like AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well welcomed by blogs about music. She has recorded several high-profile songs as covers, like Half the World Away (by Oasis), from the group Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert as well as Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) that have been widely praised. Katy Perry, who endorsed the tune Runaway with her voice, also gave it some more recognition. Enjoy the celebration of this special event. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano in her loft and being fascinated by its music. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes advised her to pursue music for the sake of personal development, and not to earn money or to pursue an interest. She started writing her own songs. Bjork as well as Leonard Cohen are among her favorite writers. She decided to start performing the songs she wrote publicly after her mom suggested they can help other people, not to gain fame with her work but to make the people around them understand the importance of their work and how they impact the world. At age 6 she started playing the piano. At age nine, she, started writing songs. Her family didn't be aware until fourteen. Aurora did not have a set goal. She claims that she enjoys creating music. She says that music is her most preferred way of feeling anything.
