Andrea Mitchell

Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist and commentator, who works as a commentator for NBC News in Washington D.C. she is a TV anchor. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from the University of Pennsylvania after growing as a child in New York City. Mitchell began her career in the field of radio and television reporter at KYW Radio and TV in Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. In 1976 she became a CBS affiliate WDVM-TV. (then WTOP in Washington DC). Then, she became a Washington general reporter for NBC News two years later. She began covering the White House in 1981 and was named chief correspondent for the congressional office in 1988. She was made Chief White House correspondent in 1992. And the chief correspondent for foreign affairs at NBC News. Mitchell was a panelist and presenter of the TV show Meet the Press. She was a member of an audience for the debates of 1988 between George Bush (then president) and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is the wife of Alan Greenspan a former chairman the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell has received numerous awards for her journalism achievements, such as the Goldsmith Career Award from John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2005. The award was presented to her with the Leonard Zeidenberg Award by Radio-Television News Directors Association in 2004. Mitchell began reporting on for the White House in 1981-1988, in both the Reagan presidency. She has covered several notable reports over the years, including budget reform, tax reform, and an investigation into the Iran Contra scandal. She traveled extensively together with Reagan as well as Mikhail Gorbachev to world summits.
